CBSE Examination Reforms: Returning to the Stone Age The history of modern education of India dated back to 1835, with Lord Macaulay being the golden calf.  His idea was to form a class of Indians who may be interpreters between British and the millions whom they ruled. He wanted a class of persons, Indian in blood and colour, but English in taste, in opinions, in morals, and in intellect. In reality, he wanted to create an array of Indians who could be perpetual servants to them or clerks at the best. जड़ें यूँ तो गुरुग्राम एक मिलेनियम सिटी है, परन्तु आज भी यह कई मायनों में नवीन परिपेक्ष में गांवों का समूह ही लगता है, जहाँ रहने वाले तो पूर्वी दुनिया के ग्रामांचल से हैं, परन्तु इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर पश्चिमी मानकों का हो गया है। यहाँ चमचमाते फ्लैटों में रहने वाले हरियाणा के भीतरी भागों के लोग हैं, जो विभिन्न कारणों से पलायन कर शहर की दुनिया में आ बसे हैं।ऐसे ही एक छोटे कस्बे पवनपुर में जन्म हुआ जय का। यह कस्बा भले ही नक्शे पर एक बिंदु से अधिक न हो, लेकिन जय के जीवन का हर अध्याय यहीं से शुरू होता था। कस्बे की गालियों में मिट्टी की महक, अमरूद के पेड़ों की छांव, और वह पुराना विशाल मकान — सब कुछ उसकी आत्मा में गहराई तक बसा हुआ हो। कस्बा तो छोटा था, मगर वहाँ के लोग बड़े दिलवाले थे। हर गली, हर मोड़ पर कोई न कोई जानने वाला मिल जाता — “अरे, ये तो चौधरी साहब का पोता है”। उसका मकान कोई आम मकान नहीं था। वकील चौधरी साहब दादा जी ने अपनी पूरी जिंदगी की कमाई से इसे बनवाया था। लाल ईंटों की चौदह इंच की मजबूत दीवारें, शीशम की लकड़ी के ऊंचे दरवाजे, और आंगन में शहतूत का पुराना पेड़ — यह मकान एक इमारत नहीं, बल्...
